Client: California College of the Arts (CCA)

A one-day workshop we've taught several times at CCA in which we start with a presentation on the history of supergraphics, and then with a team of students, concept and execute a large-scale type piece made out of blue painter's tape. Housed on a wall in the Graphic Design studio for the semester, the project's goal is to engage and inspire their fellow designers. The students first generate ideas of what it should say, and vote on their favorites, until a word or phrase is chosen. They then sketch out typography, and after agreeing on a typographic direction, grid out the walls and then go to town with tape to collectively create the piece.
