The Brno Biennial in the Czech Republic is the one of the oldest and most important graphic design exhibitions in the world, operating continuously since 1963. We were invited to create a wall piece as part of curator Jon Sueda's exhibition, "Work From California." For our installation, we were allotted an elegant curved stairway that introduced the show as you were led up and into the gallery. For the typography we used one of our studio mottos, "Dreams Made Real." The phrase felt apropos of California's optimistic reputation, and also reflected our personal feelings towards the opportunity to travel and participate in the Biennial. The piece was completed over three long days and we finished it in a sunny yellow paint that was left over from another part of in the exhibition, a minor green gesture to the environmental sensibility of our home state.
